Field Supply Wine is a natural wine producer focused on drawing out the fullest expression of each varietal, sourced from growers in the Finger Lakes and North Fork regions. We work exclusively with locally grown fruit, fermented naturally with the fewest possible interventions.
OUR STORY
We named this label to acknowledge it all starts with farming.
Agriculture comes first, then the artistry. While planting and nurturing our own vines in the Hudson Valley we are working with farmers we respect across New York State which supports them and allows us to source varietals from the fields where they grow best.
Working with nature and not against it is central to everything we do, and will never be more important than in the vineyard. The farmers sharing this approach are the real heroes. Particularly where weather can tend to work against you as often as it helps.
In the cellar we aim to create unique, and interesting wines based on what nature provides.
Minimalist in our approach, always creative and never afraid to try new things. Expect the unexpected. Hopefully our wines reflect where they were grown and are a unique presentation of how good these varietals can be.
SHOOK ONES – SKIN CONTACT MUSCAT (2022)
Scared to death / scared to look was definitely the sentiment with our first Pet Nat. But once we got things underway, there was no turning back. We started with crushed Muscat left to ferment on the skins for two weeks, then pressed it into stainless steel barrels for another two weeks before it was bottle conditioned. It's bright and lively, with plenty of bubbles and notes of apricot and peach.
GRAVITY’S RAINBOW — CABERNET FRANC (2022)
Like Pynchon's famed book, this rosé does not follow the typical plotline. It's a little out there but in a good way. We started the process with whole-cluster Carbonic Maceration for 18 days, then pressed the grapes into stainless steel tanks where they aged for nine months. Our creative experiment exceeded expectations. This super limited, lighter-style Cab Franc surprise- package is a bouquet of psychedelic strawberries and cinnamon bubblegum with a hint of savoriness.
OUR COLLECTION
THE BLESSING OF SAINT-MAUR – RIESLING (2022)
Inspired by the natty wines of La Buvette on Saint-Maur in Paris, we produced this light and balanced white with Riesling crushed and left on the skins for 24 hours—then pressed into neutral barrels and racked once but otherwise left as is. THE BLESSING OF SAINT-MAUR is our snapshot of Paris with notes of ripe grapefruit and a unique texture and mouthfeel. This wine is meant to be served with food.
THE QUESTION REMAINS — SKIN CONTACT MUSCAT (2022)
Our quest for an epic orange hue Muscat knows no bounds. So we gave creating our own a try. We started with crushed Muscat that we fermented on the skins for three weeks in open-top fermenters with daily punchdowns, then pressed into neutral vessels, racked once into an egg tank, and left for nine months before bottling. We still have questions about whether we achieved our goal. Maybe you can let us know? Either way it's a beautiful wine with the great florals typical of Muscat and notes of apricot, tinned pear, and citrus.
In the Beginning | Noiret (2022)
The wine that started it all, this rosé represents the beginning of our journey working with hybrids and to surprising results. Grown in New York's Wine Country by fifth-generation grape grower Adam Folts, IN THE BEGINNING is technically a rosé but drinks more like a red—with a darker, ruby red color despite immediate pressing off of the skins post-harvest. It’s an unexpected wine with notes of juicy, dark red fruit, showcasing the potential of hybrids and the future we envisage with wines from this region.
TRAILING THE WAKE – NOIRET RIESLING (2022)
We went light and bright for this easy-drinking rosé with co-fermented Noiret and Riesling—crushed, fermented on the skins with daily punch downs, and racked once before being aged for eight months. Despite being just 20% Noiret, it commands the spotlight with its more peachy-blush color and subdued red berry flavor. Give this one a good chill and enjoy it anytime.
